Egmont Village sits on the main crossroad to north Egmont national park.
Being only 5 minutes’ drive from New Plymouth city, Egmont Village is becoming very popular with a new generation of property buyers that don’t want to live in the city but need to be close to it.
History: Egmont Village was named for the mountain which at the time was Mount Egmont. In 1986, the New Zealand Geographic Board officially listed the dual names of Mt Egmont and Mt Taranaki as interchangeable ways to refer to the mountain. In 2020 the mountain was renamed “Taranaki Maunga”.
