Carol Weir

assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth107-CWeir.jpg

Hi, my name is Carol Weir and I am selling Real Estate for McDonald Real Estate agency in Hawera. My Real Estate career began in April 1993 when the then manager of TSB Realty kept pestering me to give up nursing and go into Real Estate. I did, knowing that it wouldn’t last long because the pull to go back nursing would be too strong but 14 years later I’m still here & loving it more and more. I have a wonderful supportive husband who over the last 14 years has got used to being neglected; only seeing glimpses of me as I dash from appointment to appointment. He has become a very good cook, rushes from work (self employed) to beat the rain to the washing, has attempted ironing and still hangs shirts on the line by the shoulders - one has learnt to be so tactful when wanting to criticise for an otherwise job well done. We have five wonderful children 26 – 34 years spread around the globe. They were all home at Christmas – being together is so special and appreciated. Real Estate is such a big part of my life – I love it – the highs and lows all taken in their stride, the everyday challenge of listings and selling, pleasing Clients and Customers andchanging my ways and ideas to meet the changes of the day

I have lived and owned businesses in Taranaki for the last 22 years. I have been married to my wife, Pam, for 30 years and we have two sons, Daniel and John. Having recently joined the commercial team at McDonald Real Estate's New Plymouth office, I am excited at the prospect of being with the company when it celebrates its centenary in 2012. This is a fabulous achievement for a family business - one that I am proud to be a part of as we move into the second century. I have had a long and successful career in retail businesses over the last 20 years, winning the Westpac Business Award for the Retail of the Year twice as well as winning the Small Business of the Year. I have also achieved many awards in the Top Shop yearly service-based competition. Passionate about excellent customer service, I have studied the intricacies of a sale with the likes of Harry Friedman, where I learnt how to find the best product for my clients. I strongly believe that with understanding, a natural enthusiasm and a positive outlook, I can provide my clients with the most impressive service available.

Wilma Semple

Having emigrated from Scotland thirty years ago with my husband Graeme and children Gordon and Avrael, I have found New Zealand a wonderful country to live in. Most of this time has been spent in Taranaki. I have always been interested in Real Estate and since commencing my career initially with TSB Realty and now with McDonald Real Estate, it's become my passion and an ongoing challenge. Every day is interesting - whether it be meeting new or existing clients. I feel privileged to be involved in what can be a demanding time and strive to make the process of buying or selling as stress-free as possible. My other interests are my two beautiful grandchildren Niamh and Hamish; renovating our properties; gardening; walking my sedate 14 year old Labrador and my very exuberant one year old Labrador through the bush surrounding our lifestyle block.

Wayne Burnnand

Originally from a farming background, my parents owned a dairy farm in Cardiff. My early working years were spent with the Taranaki Electric Power Board but after fourteen years in the industry, I decided it was time for a change. My wife Maureen and I purchased a dairy in Inglewood and it wasn't until 1992 that I ventured into real estate, gaining my branch manager's certification three years later. In 2002, Maureen and I sought an adventure and headed to England where we worked for an agency for the next 12 months, which specialized in animal minding and house protection. This was a very interesting and fun occupation - one filled with a lot of laughs! When we returned to New Zealand, I entered into the real estate profession, choosing to work for McDonald Real Estate Ltd - the family company who work to get results for you.

Jacki Berry

Stratford has been my home for the last 25 years. It's a town I've grown to love and enjoy with the people and friends I've made on my life's journey. I pride myself on being an honest and reliable person, having always given my best to every employer I've worked for. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, I worked as a nurse aid; a pool manager; I have done travel, tourism and office work, as well as volunteer and community work. I love dealing face to face with people and for the past two and a half years, I have also been selling cars to locals, which I embarked on as a new career challenge. Now, as a real estate agent, I feel I have found my niche in today's society. I am 100% dedicated to being the best ever agent for my clients. I work with a great team here in Stratford and I'm prepared to learn new skills along the way. I will be listing and selling properties with my usual integrity and honesty.

I'm married to Diann and we have three children - a son in Hamilton, a daughter in England and another daughter in Wellington. Diann and I are also proud grandparents to Ella, Lilly and Oliver. I love living in Stratford, this being the place of my birth and I have enjoyed selling Real Estate with McDonald Real Estate Ltd since 1994. Stratford is a lovely district to live and work in, with excellent facilities, good schools and a caring community. In my spare time I enjoy socialising, playing bridge, reading, and watching sport. As I have recently retired as mayor of the Stratford District, I intend to spend more time travelling, and with the family. For someone who enjoyed a career as a master builder I get a lot of pleasure out of listing and selling homes. It's great when you can take your hobby to work!

Peter McDonald

assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth107-Peter-McDonald.jpg

Peter has been the managing director of McDonald Real Estate since 1979 and has been a major influence in the growth of the company. Peter joined his father Tom, in 1976 at the age of 22 and was at that stage one of the youngest people in New Zealand to hold an associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. Under Peter's directorship the company has grown from a two person partnership in 1976 to a company with a staff of 46 and a turnover in excess of $100 million. Peter bases himself at the Stratford office, which still occupies the same spot that his grandfather, Michael set up in 1920. As a third generation owner Peter sees his main aim as ensuring the company remains among the top performers in the industry and that it continues to grow and prosper until the forth and possibly fifth generation of the family take over the reins. Peter was awarded a fellowship of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand in 1998, in recognition of his services to the Taranaki Real Estate industry.

Waitara Agents

Margaret Mangino

assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth107-Margaret-Mangino.jpg

Hi, I’m Margaret ... 'Maggie' to my mates. My husband Darcy and I have lived in Waitara for almost all of our 46 years of marriage. It’s here that our three children, Stephen, Donna and Jackie have been educated, grown up and finally flown the proverbial nest. I am a well certified member of the “Granny Brigade”. We have seven grandchildren, ranging from the tender age of four years, to the very mature 26!! I have worked in the retail sector of the town for close to 37 years - almost 14 of those in real estate. In 2008 I attained AREINZ status – something that helped me realise I could still handle the mental challenge of study and exams, culminating in a successful result. I have a huge passion for real estate. In 2006, I invited Kerrie Montgomerie into a partnership with me (Kerrie had previously been our receptionist from when the office opened in 2000). The partnership has proved to be a very successful move and as a team we have gone from strength to strength, not only building a very strong place in residential sales but also specialising and achieving the reputation of being the leading Lifestyle Team in the area. Waitara is a great place to be. I have seen many families grow up, move away and often return again. For them and myself – Waitara is “home”. I can assure you, that if you put your trust in me – in the selling or buying of a property – I will in return, give you the very best of service, honesty and a commitment to go that “EXTRA MILE.”

Wayne Beggs

assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth107-Wayne-Beggs2.jpg

As a potential client, you may want to know a little about me, so I've penned this short profile. I began my real estate career in Waitara. It seems such a long time ago. Aside from three years travelling overseas, I have been listing and selling property in Waitara and surrounding areas ever since. In 2001, I completed my management and licensee papers through Massey University. I managed the Waitara office for eight years and now under the Real Estate Agents Authority Act, I have licensee status. I guess, having survived this many years in a topsy turvy profession, I must be doing something right. I still get a real buzz out of seeing the delight that both vendors and purchasers experience when a transaction has taken place. My vast experience means I'm well tuned to the needs of my clients and I especially pride myself on my knowledge regarding the rental investment field. Waitara born and bred, I am perhaps better known for my golfing exploits, having played over 100 matches for Taranaki - believe it or not - a lot of business gets done on the golf course. If I am able to assist you in any way with your real estate requirements, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kerrie Montgomerie

assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth107-Kerrie-Montgomerie.jpg

I have lived in Waitara all my life and come from a well known local family. I have two great daughters, Casey & Tiaan, who keep me on my toes and my feet firmly on the ground. Sport plays a major part in my life, netball especially and I am currently involved with Raukura Netball Club and have been for coming up thirty years— most as a player and recently as a coach of which I am very proud. Both my daughters play, so I guess that begins the next chapter. We are very sports orientated and do a lot of travelling around supporting the different sports the family are involved in. I have been working alongside Margaret Mangino since June 2006 which has been a great learning curve, and our partnership continues to thrive in the local Residential and Lifestyle market. If I can assist you with your Real Estate requirements in the future please call.

Maxine Rogers

assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth107-Maxine-Rogers.jpg

Having spent the last three years in Real Estate I am convinced I have found my calling…helping people into their own home is such a buzz and meeting new people everyday is something I look forward too. Coming from a farming background the change to Real Estate was a real challenge but something I thrived on, achieving Rookie Of The Year for McDonald Real Estate gave me great satisfaction in knowing I picked a career that suited me. I am fortunate to have two awesome children. Libby, nearly 21 and currently a junior legal secretary and Baxter who is 15 and in his third year at Francis Douglas. My outside interests include tennis, tennis and more tennis which leaves me fit and strong for erecting advertising signs, also for running from property to property for my clients. I thoroughly enjoy the challenges Real Estate brings and believe it shines through to the way I go about the job. If you are in need of an ENERGETIC, ENTHUSIASTIC, HONEST agent then look no further and give me a call.
