Just a little information about me: I live in Opunake and have done most of my life; it is a fabulous place to bring up kids. An awesome beach, which is one of the safest in Taranaki, also we have Middleton Bay being the home of the Opunake Boat club and the boat ramp, also Opunake Lake.

You can see why I have chosen to live there. Keith (who sadly passed away in 2009) and I have four adult children, who really enjoyed growing up on the coast, Alex, Erin, Joshua and James.

I work from the Eltham office covering Eltham, Kaponga through to Opunake. We have a great team in our office, Carolyn Cragg being my PA and our wonderful Admin Sarah Wood. We cover the whole process of Real Estate, Buying, Selling and Property Management making the investment options so much easier and stress free.

Real Estate is a great career. It can be a very rewarding occupation helping our Clients through what can be a very stressful time. For me it was also an opportunity to further my education in the Real Estate Sector through studying at Massey University to attain my Agents License.

I moved to Taranaki from Auckland in 1984. I wanted more than the 'big city' life for my children and it's been the best decision I've ever made.

Taranaki - what an awesome place to live! From the mountain to the sea in just 20 minutes, this place has excellent educational institutions with loads of sporting opportunities for kids - with fantastic people to top it off!

During my life here, I have had a fantastic variety of positions, including farm work (believe it or not, I loved milking cows). I've been a machine operator with Fonterra, a diversional therapist, painter/decorator and also an interior consultant.

In 1999, I married David. Between us, we have five children and six incredible grandchildren - hopefully there's more to come.

I am extremely proud to be involved with local Eltham organisations. I have a great passion for youth affairs (I am called 'Ma' by more young people than I can count). I also must confess that I'm not a sporty person - the closest thing I do with sport is watch it.

Real estate is not where I thought my future lay. In 2008, I worked as a relief administrator in McDonald Real Estate's Eltham office and quickly began work as a property manager. I am a licensed salesperson and a proud sales associate, reporting directly to Viv Scott within the Eltham/Kaponga market.

I love my job - it's different every day. Meeting new clients and tenants is a privilege - one I won't take for granted.

Take a look at the number plate on my car - that says it all!

I sell it - sales professional - management professional.

I am the fourth generation of my family to work for McDonald Real Estate, an achievement we are very proud of. To survive for 100 years in real estate you need to have a passion for the industry and a reputation of honesty and integrity. These traits are in my blood.

I'm also proud to be a Taranaki lad. I was born and raised in Taranaki and I love the area and its people. Our company has played a massive part in the lives of generations of local families, and the continued support we receive is not taken for granted. The opportunity to be involved in the company's 100th year celebration in 2012 was a great honor.

I began in real estate in 2005 and from an early stage it was clear to me that service is the number one requirement in building a healthy relationship with my clients. This commitment continues in my managerial duties as we strive to ensure that the McDonald Real Estate family continues to grow and prosper for the next 100 years. I'm the Systems Manager for McDonald Real Estate Ltd

Working is a pleasure when you're passionate about what you do. After working as a dairy farmer for 30 years, I decided to follow in the footsteps of my grandfather, father and brothers before me and join McDonald Real Estate as an agent in 1999. Selling farms and rural properties along the coastal area from New Plymouth to Opunake, until late 2013. With the expansion of the company I have stopped selling properties and taken on the role of Systems Manager where I keep the information, internet and technology systems, that we use, running smoothly.

Anne Wilson

Anne Wilson Head and Shoulders B+W2
Anne is passionate about Real Estate and her slogan of 'up front and down to earth' sums her up well.
She is a mother of 4 and was a nurse for over 20 years. Having been married to a builder also assists her greatly in her real estate career with sellers and buyers who can often be quite stressed about the whole process.
She is a workaholic who is always out to do the best for her clients and she always ensures they are all 'nursed' through the process of selling and buying and they get great support and advice on how to go about the steps involved.
She is supported by a very energetic team of hard workers who work in the culture and philosophy of the A team . Anne sells on average 1 property per week and has done so for over the last 3 years.
Clearly her methods of selling work incredibly well for her with her days on market being extremely competitive in the selling environment.
Anne would love to hear from you to assist you with any of your Real Estate transactions. She and the team are always here and ready to help in their happy, non judgemental and upfront way.

TESTIMONIALS

“We would like to thank you and your A team for the effort in selling our property. You promised it would be a stress less and hassle free and from our point of view it was all of that. You said you would get us the best price out there and you also delivered on that. We found you and your A team members very helpful, friendly, informative and professional during the sale and we both felt we were kept very well informed of what was happening at all times.”
Thanks B&R, New Plymouth, 2014

“Hi Anne, you guys are streets ahead of the real estate guys we dealt with at this end and I must say more honest :-)!!! We would always be happy to recommend you to anyone Anne, we made our choice and stuck with it throughout and got the result we wanted. Thanks again and have a great Christmas and New Year.”
Cheers Jim and Brodwyn, Oakura, 2013

'We chose Anne because of her reputation but also her positive but realistic approach. We generally keep an eye on the local sales and often attend Open Homes always introducing ourselves as 'just nosey neighbours'. If Anne was there, she would always respond with 'nosey neighbours buy and sell houses too you know' and laugh and welcome us in. At the end of the day, love her or not, can she sell houses? Yes she can and in our case, far exceed our expectations! We rate the selling process with Anne and the A-team as painless, no non-sense, and in accordance with our instruction to the letter. We would and do recommend the A-team to others because Anne seems to clearly be in tune with the market, the people and the process involved in selling a property. To us, she is inspirational.' Lisa & Steve, Oakura, September 2013

'We chose Anne because we had our house on the market with someone else and it wasn't selling. We were feeling despondent and a friend said Anne is the one she will get the job done! With regards to the selling process - Anne was very positive and basically had the confidence to get buyers to see past and not be concerned about the issues which had put previous buyers off. She had the buyer through within a few days and it couldn't have been easier. I would highly recommend the A team to others, the girls we've dealt with who work with Anne are absolutely lovely and seem to have the perfect mix of friendliness and professionalism. Anne had a lot to live up to reputation wise but from the very first phone call I just felt relief knowing there was hope for selling my house! Thanks a lot for all your help.' Nicki, Paul, Charlie and Poppy, New Plymouth, August 2013

'We knew she had a proven track record in Oakura as we follow the market quite closely and know she had sold properties similar to ours so had a good client base to contact. We were extremely impressed with the communications and feedback we got. We were informed every step of the way and even had a note left at our house after each open home so did not have to 'guess' whether anyone turned up or not. We were always against the 'No Price' marketing concept as when you are the purchaser it can be rather frustrating. However as a vendor it certainly does work in your favour as Anne said it would. Definitely would recommend Anne to anyone selling their house as she is very pro-active and very dedicated to selling your house and maximising the price for her vendors.' Bob & Jeanette, Oakura, August 2013

"Anne has sold two homes to us now, both times we found her to be amazing, Stress free, Great communication and friendly." Michael and Hayley, New Plymouth

"Pleasure to deal with." Lorna, Oakura, October 2012

"Very professional" Stephen and Julie, Oakura, October 2012

This is what attracted me to McDonald Real Estate brand, where the company puts back into their communities be it the Te Rangimarie Hospice or the local bowling club. It is with pleasure that I finally join McDonald Real Estate and take place in a business with a very successful realtor who prides itself in being professional, focused and honest.
I am married to a Southern boy now, have four adult children, am a grandmother and love it.

John Blundell - Rural

JohnBlundell
I'm back, living, working and fishing on the coast. I guess you could say I've been around.
As a youngster you would have found me working on farms in the Inglewood district.
The season of Bola I moved to the coast and progressed up the sharemilking ladder with jobs in Warea, Pungarehu, and Rahotu.
1996 saw a move to the South Island to take a % ownership in and manage one of the earliest Dairy Equity Partnerships in NZ.
2001 and a 2 years in Europe to convert a farm to a NZ seasonal system beckoned. Unfortunately "foot and mouth" arrived just before I did. Plans rearranged and I milked cows in Ireland and Wales among other things before heading back to NZ to lease a South Island Dairy farm.
Four years of Rural Real Estate in South Canterbury, and recently 2 years working for a grazing company in Taranaki, I'm now back doing what I really enjoy.
Which is dealing with people and property.

“John Blundell assisted us to sell off a parcel of land from our farm. We chose John as our agent because of his obvious understanding of the current rural situation and marketing position. We liked the fact he was frank and gave us an honest opinion as to what price we could expect, He explained fully the pros and cons of all the various methods of sale, again in a pleasant and clear manner, with no pressure. We appreciated his genuine attitude and he was in no way ‘pushy’.
We were very happy with outcome of the sale and also with John’s work. He kept us informed at all times as to the procedure and progress in an efficient but unassuming manner. We felt confident in John at all times that he doing his utmost to achieve the best possible result for us.
We would consider employing John Blundell on any future sale of our land.”

I'm a Property Fanatic and I'm proud of it.
I bought my first property at 18. I scraped paint off and I put paint on - twice.

- I lived in it
- I rented it
- I re-mortgaged it
- I subdivided it, and
- I moved another house onto it

Did I stop there? No way. I studied it.
After obtaining a business degree at University I became eligible for a career in property valuation. Three years of learning the profession as a graduate, was the forerunner to achieving the status of Registered Valuer in 2009.
Should I have stopped there? No way. I enjoy selling it.
Helping vendors to achieve a great sale price is what I do best. Helping vendors to move-on with confidence is what I find rewarding. Helping buyers to feel at home in your home is part of my promise to you.

Let's face it - selling a home is a BIG decision. It's also costly, disruptive, and very emotional. Did I forget stressful? Getting the right advice - first time is my free gift to you.

"Fantastic communication from Anne and her team - continually updating us. Great enthusiasm and determination to get our house sold." Michelle, Whalers Gate, December 2012

In 1976 at just 22 years old, I joined the business with my father, Tom, and became one of the youngest in the country to hold an associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. In 1979, I went on to become the managing director of the company, which has since grown from a two person partnership in 1976 to a company with a staff of 46 and a turnover in excess of $100 million.

I am based in our Stratford office, which still occupies the same spot that my grandfather, Michael, set up in 1920. As a third generation owner, my main goal is to ensure the company remains among the top performers in the industry and that it continues to grow and prosper until the fourth and possibly fifth generation of family take over the reins.

In 1998, I was awarded a fellowship of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand in recognition of my services to the Taranaki real estate industry.

I started my real estate career in February 1998 joining McDonald Real Estate as a Rural Salesperson focusing on the South Taranaki area. Whilst I still have an active role as a Rural Salesperson and also manager our very successful rural sales team my wife, Sheree and I have also joined Peter and Min McDonald as co-owners of McDonald Real Estate Ltd. My focus is now not only property sales but also on the continued growth and development of all aspects of our company. I am privileged to be part of McDonald Real Estate Ltd and extremely proud of the results we are able to achieve and especially proud of the people we have that help to make McDonald Real Estate Ltd the market leader in Taranaki.

In selling our dairy farm, John Blundell played an intricate part in the process. We found him to be very keen, motivated and professional and was excellent in keeping us in the loop.He was always approachable and a pleasure to deal with and most of all, very proactive.

I am the finance manager of the Kaimata Board of Trustees and the link with a government department certainly ensures you have good patience and high tolerance levels.

Twenty five years in the wool industry and three in the dairy industry have given me a very good overview of the rural sector and I am looking forward to extending that knowledge into the real estate market.

Melanie has a career in Child Care.
I started my working career as a tool maker. After 6 years, having married and had children, my wife and I embarked on a dairy farming career seeing this as a way to achieve our financial goals.
My wife and I built a successful career dairy farming, starting out as labourers and finishing in the industry at a point where we were 50/50 share milking 470 cows, lease farming 170 cows and having 50% ownership in a 400 cow farm.
In 2007, with farm and animal prices rising we decided that a change in career would allow us to spend more time with our children and also help my parents to retire in their early 50's.
I have since gone on to establish a number of lifestyle and residential subdivisions. During this time I have built up extensive knowledge in both purchasing and selling property. This experience, combined with my farming knowledge allows all of my clients the benefit of some twenty years of Real Estate expertise. I'm married to Diane and we have three children - a son in Hamilton, a daughter in England and another daughter in Wellington.

Diann and I are also proud grandparents to Ella, Lilly and Oliver. I love living in Stratford, this being the place of my birth and I have enjoyed selling Real Estate with McDonald Real Estate Ltd since 1994.

Stratford is a lovely district to live and work in, with excellent facilities, good schools and a caring community. In my spare time I enjoy socialising, playing bridge, reading, and watching sport.

As I have recently retired as mayor of the Stratford District, I intend to spend more time travelling with the family. For someone who enjoyed a career as a master builder, I get a lot of pleasure out of listing and selling homes. It's great when you can take your hobby to work!

Danny Bates

Danny-Bates.jpg
Taranaki born and bred I'm proud to be a Kiwi and a "Naki" boy. After leaving Inglewood High School in 1989, I went to visit England (my father's birth country) and ended up staying there for 18 years, during this time I met my wife Noni and had two children Kyle (17) and Emily (14).

In 2006 I brought my family back to New Zealand for a holiday and we fell in love with the charm that New Zealand has to offer. One year later we returned to live, and set up home in Stratford where my close family now resides.

Our story gets better and so far we have "lived happily ever after". We purchased a home in Stratford - Noni now works at the local Mitre 10, Kyle has just left Stratford High School and has begun a building apprenticeship and Emily has just moved from St Joseph's School to Stratford High School. We also have a new addition to our family - our baby "Snowy" a four year old Bichon Frise.

On returning to New Zealand I decided to move into Real Estate and after successfully completing my Real Estate course at Polytech I joined the McDonald Real Estate Ltd family business in 2008 and am based at the Stratford residential office. This family company has been selling real estate for over 100 years and I'm proud to say that I now feel part of the "family" company.

I've learnt so much in Real Estate, no two days are the same, there's a great sense of pride in being able to assist people to achieve their goals.
I feel my greatest strength is honesty - I'd rather lose a deal than feel I've done a misjustice to someone. I'm not in this business to do just "one-off deals" with my clients, I want to achieve "life-long deals/friends" and by ensuring all of my client's needs are met to the best of my ability I hope this holds me in good stead for the future.

Outside my family and real estate life, I've thrown myself into the great Stratford community. I am chairman of the Stratford Community Safe Trust where I work very closely with, my fellow trustees, the Stratford District Council, Police, and various other organisations. I am a member of the Stratford Business Association and I also enjoy playing golf and am an active member of the Stratford Golf Club. My other interests including camping, fishing and also a little bit of socialising.
My future goals? Well, with the help of my family, the McDonald Real Estate family and the Stratford community I feel anything is possible. My motto in life is "treat people as you like to be treated and life is for living so live it to the full".

By choosing to give me the opportunity to help you with your real estate needs, you have my personal guarantee that I will endeavour to achieve YOUR expectations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this introduction, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.

Stratford has been my home for 31 years, a town I have grown to love and enjoy, where the people and friends I have made along the way have enhanced my life's journey.
I have been with McDonald Real Estate Ltd for four years with each year being more successful than the last. I have
really found my niche and have discovered a passion for
real estate and all that it entails. I have found that matching people with their dream homes is one of the most satisfying aspects of my career.

Working for McDonald Real Estate Ltd, the family firm that's good for life, has allowed me to contribute to the Stratford Community in many ways. It is important to me to give back and so I have participated in the Relay for Life each year, am a trustee of the Central Taranaki Youth Trust and it is my great pleasure to mentor a young girl through the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Taranaki . Any spare time I have is spent with my three incredible children and my two beautiful grandsons.

I would like to thank all my clients who have helped in no small way to my success. I look forward to another great year in real estate.

“I want to thank Sam Swinburne very much for selling my property.

Over the past few weeks I have had dealings with Sam Swinburne acting as an agent for McDonald Real Estate while I was looking for a house to purchase in Stratford. I found Sam to be very obliging and well mannered, always prepared to listen to what I was looking for and doing his very best to help in any way possible.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Sam to any person or persons looking to sell or purchase a property.

Sam Swinburne was my Real Estate agent from McDonald’s Real Estate (in Stratford) who sold my property in Stratford in December 2013.

I found Sam to be very enthusiastic and positive and went the extra mile to achieve results for me. Sam was completely honest and would have no hesitation in asking any questions relating to my property. Any queries that I had, I felt Sam listened to them and took them on board. He promptly communicated with me after open homes or when prospective buyers were shown through my home which was much appreciated. His enthusiastic approach to real estate contributed to the successful house sale.
I wish Sam well in his future endeavours and I am sure his honesty and integrity will help him achieve his goals in life.

Recently, we approached Peter McDonald of McDonald Real Estate, regarding our property not having sold. Peter's suggestion was that we try a new member of his staff, Sam Swinburne. Upon meeting Sam, Megan and I were both impressed with his appearance, personality, and professional ability to market. Following his first open home, the house was sold in six days. We would strongly suggest anyone wanting to buy or sell in the real estate market, contact Sam for quick results.
We both wish Sam well for his chosen career in this field”.

We are pleased to recommend Sam Swinburne to any person(s) needing an Agent to sell their property. New on the Stratford scene, Sam quickly showed us the complete competence he has with all aspects of Real Estate marketing. Right from the very beginning Sam was focussed on the job at hand and seemed to be very well prepared. We were extremely impressed with the his dedication, enthusiasm and the hardworking qualities he displayed when selling our family home. Sam was easy to contact, always available and very quick to reply. He was happy to answer any concerns we might have and would always follow-up all correspondence to ensure we remained well informed. Sam proved to be extremely reliable. We found his open and honest approach very refreshing and this established a relationship of confidence and trust. In the end it was no surprise to us the speed at which Sam achieved a great outcome. Sam not only utilised all the resources he had available him but was also prepared to go that extra mile to deliver the result we so wanted. He was just the right man. We have absolutely no hesitation in encouraging any seller to contact Sam Swinburne to market your house or property.

Ron, Kirsten and Family.

We would like to recommend Sam Swinburne who went to a great deal of effort on our behalf in selling our house at Cordelia Street. Sam showed many clients through our property as well as running open homes and at all times kept us well informed as to what was happening. He liaised with the buyer and building inspector, keeping us up to date on the progress of the sale. At all times he has been very helpful and professional in his approach.

People often ask me “why did you choose to work in the real estate industry? And why did you join McDonald Real Estate?” I reply “It’s Simple; the real estate industry allows me to help people achieve their goals and secondly, if you want to be the best then why not learn from the best”.

Some people may question my reasoning and that is great, but what I have learnt over my 13 years as a professional sportsman (Rugby Union), is that if you want to achieve and have success you need two things.
The first ingredient you need to have is a clear plan of how to achieve your goal.
The second vital ingredient you need is an accomplished coach/advisor that has had a lot of experience in your area of expertise, someone who is durable, is respected and trusted by their peers, and is a great Team Person.
These are traits that I have seen in the successful teams that I have been involved in as a player and as a coach. McDonald Real Estate Ltd offers this and more.

What I would like from you is the same as what I received from you when I was playing on the rugby fields, it can be summed up in two words “YOUR SUPPORT”.
With your support, my desire to achieve and McDonald Real Estate Ltd, I will do my very best to help you achieve and let you experience first-hand the feeling of success.

We have had many dealings with McDonald Real Estate in the past and have never hesitated in recommending them to others. Thank you McDonald Real Estate! Great work Maureen!

Margaret Mangino

Margaret Mangino2
Hi I'm Margaret, Maggie to my mates. My husband Darcy & I have lived in Waitara, for almost all of our 49yrs of marriage. It's here our three children, Stephen, Donna and Jackie have been educated, grown up and finally flown the nest. I am a well certified member of the 'Granny Brigade', we have seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild! I have worked in the retail sector of the town for over 39yrs, 14 of those in Real Estate. I have seen many families grow up, move away and often return again , because for them, like me, Waitara is a GREAT place to be. In 2008 I attained AREINZ status - proof I could still handle the challenge of study and exams. I have a huge passion for Real Estate, with Lifestyle as my specialty. I can assure you, that if you put your trust in me in the Selling or Buying of a property, I will in return give you, the very best of SERVICE, HONESTY and a COMMITMENT, to go that 'EXTRA MILE'

Kerrie Montgomerie

Kerrie
I have lived in Waitara all my life and come from a well known local family. I have two great daughters, Casey and Tiaan, who keep me on my toes and my feet firmly on the ground.

Sport plays a major part in my life - especially my netball. I am currently involved with Raukura Netball Club and have been for coming up thirty years - mostly as a player and recently as a coach of which I am very proud. Both my daughters play, so I guess that begins the next chapter. We are very sports-orientated and do a lot of travelling around supporting the different interests the family are involved in.

I have been working alongside Margaret Mangino since June 2006, which has been a great learning curve, and our partnership continues to thrive in the local residential and lifestyle market. If I can assist you with your real estate requirements in the future, please call.

Raewyn Breman

My name is Raewyn Breman and I have worked for McDonald Real Estate since 2002. I started in the Waitara office as the receptionist and I also did property management for approximately four years before deciding to move into a sales role, which also included property management. After working in these two roles combined for some time, I gave up the sales role, realising my true passion is in dealing with rental properties.

I now reside in Lepperton and work from the Waitara office. I am a well-established property manager in the Waitara area and I now cover Urenui, Bell Block, Fitzroy and the surrounding rural areas.

I can offer you competitive rates and professional service for full management or casual landlord needs. Call me today for further information.
